Field notes from the data workshop — with the receipts.
The Crosshire Journal is long-form writing on data platforms — Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, governance, and the FinOps in between. Every post carries the benchmark numbers and the exact queries behind each claim, so you can reproduce the result yourself rather than take our word for it.
The house rule is simple: we don’t publish a claim we can’t hand you the query for. A dashboard writes you a summary; a query is the receipt. Dollar figures are labelled for what they are — list-price estimates unless a post says otherwise — and an empty result is treated as not assessed, never as zero.
Written by Darshan Singh. Crosshire is a data-platform practice; much of the audit work behind these posts is open source, and the consulting side lives at crosshire.ch.
Start with the latest field notes, or the Databricks query library if you want the queries themselves.
